Carillon

Created 2017
“Carillon” is an interactive art installation designed to make space for acknowledging and honoring the work of caregiving. This piece is made of a wide variety of bells, all labeled with types of labor required for caring for a loved one. Viewers are encouraged to ring the bells of those types of labor that they have practiced or identify with; finding the melody of their experience as they move through the piece.

The labels indicating types of caregiving activities are pulled from interviews with people who are caring for loved ones. There are blank labels available for viewers to contribute to the growing body of work being honored.

Carillon was designed for the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving 30th Anniversary Gala in Americus, GA.  Learn More...
